  Dr. Virginia Hardy

  Dr. Virginia Hardy, Chief VP Inclusion & Belonging Officer at ECU Health, is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment where all individuals feel valued and respected. She leads strategic initiatives to embed inclusion, equity, and belonging in all operations, focusing on policies, recruitment, retention, and advancement opportunities.
  
  With over 30 years in education as a teacher, assistant principal, counselor, and administrator, Dr. Hardy brings extensive expertise. She has held various roles at East Carolina University, including Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Brody School of Medicine, Interim Chief Diversity Officer, and Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. In these roles, she prioritized student success, leadership development, and holistic growth.
  
  Passionate about psychosocial identity and leadership development, Dr. Hardy empowers individuals and organizations to grow and thrive. She holds a B.A. from UNC Chapel Hill, a master’s from East Carolina University, and a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University.

  Josh Lewis

  Josh Lewis is the President and CEO of the Eastern North Carolina Alliance as well as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) with more than 15 years of experience in economic, business, and workforce development. He has worked with local and regional organizations in North Carolina and Virginia. He has previously held leadership and development roles with the Mount Rogers Regional Partnership, Virginia Economic Development Partnership, United Way, and Goodwill Industries. During his career, Josh has helped to announce more than 5,000 jobs and approximately $2 billion in capital investment. Josh will be the guest speaker at the 2025 SURGE VIP Luncheon.
